Correct, they add drain cleaner to balance the pH to neutralise the acid. This acid will be present in both the brine + waste water.

Did these guys think they can just reinject brine + water with higher salinity into a salar? We are talking in excess of 30GL pa annum just for phase 1. How much sodium chloride will they be reinjecting if they don't remove it?

What are the long term implications on the Salar for adding all of that salt back into the salar?

What impacts will this have on the drinking water for the local towns?

LKE due to release a DFS (3 years in the making), yet they can't even answer basic questions.
