The problem is with mining stocks there is an intrinsic value that can easily be calculated based on the JORC and cost to extract, you can define something in terms of actual, genuine asset value.
in terms of what we have here with 4ds, well, there's a lot of variables in play, but cos we're looking at a "Sale price" lets skip to the end and say they've achieved all they want to achieve with the tech.

who else is competing in this market? wbt? they're struggling to find customers, and their share price is tumbling.... (also super proud of my they're their)
Any buyer would need to see value in what it is they intend to do with the IP, and then balance that on what they think it will cost them to aquire - if theres a competition going on that would be great, cos they have to compete. but that first offer, will be based on share price, because they know they wont be able to aquire below shareprice as shareholders would never allow it, and as a profitable entity they're not going to try to just come up with some random number in an as yet unproven market. this is a breakthrough technology after all. there are ample applications, but the purchaser of the IP will be looking to value that IP before they get a change to actually test it in the market, and so the best yard stick on a speculative property would be what the market values it at. My opinion anyway
