Your 100% right.....I've got mates around Australia some from SA, QL and NSW and all are aged between 50 and 60.I grew up in Sydney, strangely enough from all walks of life, not one of us remember a recession or tough times in '66.
At age 9 - 11 I knocked on doors too.......With a chemist run and a paper run....doing deliveries....Gee poor Julia's Daddy!
In fact, I remember everyone(average aussies)doing just fine. Even in the early seventies we all comfortably got jobs and started apprenticeships of our own accord when we were supposed to be in a recession!
I just wish Gillard would get off the stage.....I have never heard any PM in over fifty years come out with some mush convincing crap to the Australian public.....If her Dad had to knock on doors looking for work in '66 one wonders what skills she could've inherited ?????
By the way I thought the telecommunication revolution was promised by labour last election! But of course Gillard wouldn't remember that.......and Sydney rail.....western suburbs........not even approved by her party but she has promised yet once again. Created jobs........The insulation industry is in chaos.....No employment....Ton's of stock and many genuine businesses going broke and folding because they haven't been paid by Julia's government....maybe she can't remember ??? Meanwhile the shonky's .....unmonitored until after the event, have escaped multi millionaires and most won't ever get prosecuted!
