Probably because he's had several discussions with DJ and has a lot of respect for him. JL has previously said that DJ was responsible for changing his thinking (for the better) on GLN, and subsequently had JP on his podcast.

I think he views the project favourably since there is an operational path to production/scale, it will be operating in the first quartile of the cost curve (with the scale outlined in DFS2), going the chloride route brings forward cashflow, and the management team have runs on the board.

I suspect JL hasn't invested because of his own investment thesis at this stage of his life, where he wants less exposure to what he deems higher risk plays. IIRC he seems to favour those already producing, as well as LAC.
