I agree - she did a really good job mostly from memory (as distinct from off the cuff) and it's not easy to do what she did. It's also no big deal to refer to notes or auto cue - they all do it, even the best. Nobody had a go at Kennedy or Reagan for referring to notes
However - unfortunately for Gillard things like this stick with some voters and she has to blame her support crew who apparantly went through the room telling everybody it would be sans notes. Stupid move.
