Divestment of assets means lower future distributions. Can't collect future distributions from an asset that doesn't exist (because it was sold in prior periods).
Divestment of assets is better than dilutive capital raisings at the bottom of the cycle (which absolutely destroy any long term share holds wealth), but still also results in lower future distributions.
Just look at AOF. They divested assets to pay down debt, and now look at how low their distributions are relative to history. (Yes I know different type of property asset, but the fact remains, divestment's lower future distributions all other factors being equal)
