Its easier for you guys in Australia. I'm in NZ, and trade with ASB Securities, which is owned by CBA, so a sister company to Commsec.
I've talked to them, which may be of interest if there are any NZ shareholders left.
Unfortunately they don't offer the same options as Commsec, but if I do the ADS conversion sent out today they can then register the stock as in their custody, and do trades over the phone. Costs are higher.
