Ian McCubbing is a highly experienced businessman and why wouldn't Billis want him on the team? If you check out his CV you will see that he has worked for some very great companies at senior level and has a wealth of experience in the financial markets.
Why does Billis need to divulge his technical team? Whoever they are they have the runs on the board at TBR.
What RIM needs is a steady and reliable capital source to undertake exploration with newly outsourced "geos". That is what Billis will bring to this company.
