I emailed James Graham and he responded very promptly requesting further information.
It was quite positive and I greatly appreciate his response.
pipjon, it would seem that part of the problem is her age, 93, and also that she has always been very skinny so there is not much between her bones and skin to help heal or protect the wound.
My mother changed medical practioners a few weeks ago, and also has been to a specialist.
The wound and her leg in general have responded very well and is a lot better.
It would seem the main issue was poor medical advice.
