    Yes, one can blame the regional actors for using the conflict for their interest. But that doesn't change the fact that the present situation is imho primarily the result of West's one-sided support of Israel. Can't keep generations of Palestinians without hope of proper life for decades and expect things to resolve by itself.

    Azerbaijan is an interesting one. An example which shows the perception that all mideast events are based on religious motives is not exactly true. There we have Iran supporting Armenia against the muslim Azerbaijan. Turks are a big minority in Iran - some 20-30% of the population if I recall correctly. Iranian government is always anxious about potential Turkish separatist movements. Then there is Israel getting close to Azerbaijan in recent years, mainly to get close to the Iranian border and put pressure on them; and Iran in response perhaps turning up heat in the Israel-Palestine conflict.
