Given how many times it was done during this campaign, it should be becoming clearer that the days of wheeling out a celeb to spruik something and have them put it right between the posts is gone. I'm trying to be even-handed, but they really did tilt the cringometer when they went on with their 'little talks' to camera. Rove McManus really did round out that chapter in the most cringeworthy way possible, while all his employees watched on in adoration. Can't you just see him pitching his appearance to the other producers and about how wonderful he will be, telling Australia that they're all retarded and that we will forever be two nations without it blah blah blah. I bet he moved some of them to tears. I'm sure some of the 85 people who watched him live - all Yes voters already - were equally impressed.
