What a highly misleading thread title & article. 1) Just because you are claiming a loss does not mean that you are really losing money - ever heard of depreciation? (and sure the item you are depreciating devalues over time but it usually lasts significantly longer than it's depreciable life). 2) The comment is primarily only applicable to investments in the early years and can just as applicably be applied to ANY other small business starting out. 3) Just because you are potentially losing money in the sort term doesn't mean that you will lose money on your overall investment - it is about time in the investment. 4) Anyone that doesn't take advantage of tax benefits where financially appropriate to them is a mug.
