Not really a like-for-like comparison though when banks will give you 5% interest on that money sitting there otherwise doing nothing though?
It's kind of a paradox where the company needs interest rates to drop in order to encourage an uptick in trading volume and return to bullish market sentiment, but if interest rates drop to cause that then it eats into their primary source of profitability.
Be interesting to see if they can get to an equilibrium through culling more staff or something similar.
