To build trust: do what you say you are going to do.
saying you're going to do something then not doing it erodes trust.
some people say they're going to do something then don't deliver because they can't or were under pressure.
people volunteering to do something then failing to deliver is just stupid. The question must be asked, why volunteer in the first place. This is a quick way to destroy trust.
