I was initially disappointed that the carbonate plant wasn't currently being refurbished and we need to wait for a strategic review.
After a quick Google on new tech I found a Canadian Li mining company who has just split the refining tech into a new company whose tech is being assessed/piloted in Tennessee.
They can make Lithium Foil as well as Carbonate and LiOH.
Lithium foil is needed for the Aviation batteries which Northvolt are working on.
Once it is in aviation then for shipping, haulage etc.
Lithium Foil doesn't travel well and needs to be produced close to Battery Manufactures, it's not for shipping.
I wonder who and where in Tennessee ?
