Just had a quick look at what you've been discussing - a very valid point.

I had touched on this issue of the differences in seismic data quality between fault blocks in a recent post but just had a closer look specifically at Line CB21-11. I've put some Slides below that show, IMO, a very good correlation between the general seismic data quality within the Upper Angwa fault blocks and the angle that seismic line CB21-11 cuts across the faults. This is a classic 2D seismic ray path imaging problem and will be compounded by side swiping - energy originating from outside the plane of the 2D section resulting in destructive interference and false events with the 2D section.
