mated by Liontown to be $951 million as of September 29, the fifth time in four years that its price tag was upgraded, although a portion of the increased cost was linked to scope changes on the project, not just blowouts.The September cost estimate left Liontown with a $450 million funding shortfall to complete construction of the mine, a problem that could have been dealt with utilising Albemarle’s balance sheet had the takeover gone ahead.”
