yes .... my Dad (now long deceased) held shares and an annuity that passed with him.
the annuity died out with him but he was always grateful for the annuity as he was very appreciative of stable dependable income not just the whims of the market. I remember him telling me this.
some of the LIC's with a focus on income perhaps are similar? income is very important.
my biggest share holding is BKW/SOL near 10%. because when asked if they have ever made a mistake the answer was "once we reduced our dividend"
during they flash crash they said that the dividend was guaranteed. gees l was so happy.... above all else they pay their dividend.
