Non Filamentry theoretically should make the specific metrics like endurance, retention potentially better than a filamentry equivalent but the trade off's still exist in the physics. If you have achieved X in endurance , Y in Retention, Z in Speed and K in temp for example the maths still works very similar you may just have better figures to work with. This maths isn't particularly new or isolated to reram.

Strongly disagree with comparisment . 4DS non filamentary cell is activated by applying voltage on the outside plates while ( NO current passing trough the substrate) the filamentary ReRAM cell is activated by current passing trough the substrate and chemically changing it to be ready for reading. No hard feelings tho
