I agree, the criminals may find a way around the new restrictions by spreading the money around but at least the money can be traced with the introduction of cashless gaming, beginning on 25/10/23 in the Sovereign Room at Sydney. It's just starting and will take a while to implement. Eventually you will not be able to play without your membership card.

In the past, I used to see these criminals filling the poker machines with cash, not even playing the money through and just cashing out. They would also approach other patrons who had won a significant amount of money, offering to pay cash for their winning tickets trying to launder their money. They had obviously put money through at some stage to be able to gain access to the Sovereign Room.

These days upon entering the Sovereign Room, criminal history checks are being conducted on existing patrons as well as any guests that may be invited into the Sovereign Room.
