What exactly does that have to do with social debt, massively inflated living costs/education costs/ health care costs etc. Sure there's a few whiners out there, always will be, but the majority are having a fair dinkum crack. To judge everyone of the younger generation as simply "whiners" is easy i guess when sitting on your houseboat on that river in Africa........Denial.
Your average wage earner doesn't have enough incoming to cover outgoing. I hardly think a paper round is the answer. Your answer may be get a second job, well where does that leave the next generation, parent less by default? The government has already put in place a system that encourages both parents to work (most need to, just to survive) with childcare rebates etc. How about a rebate for parents that decide to stay at home and care for their children?
The younger generation are facing the brutal fact that they will never be able to realistically afford to buy their own home, spend time raising their children etc.
The scariest thing about it is that most BB have seen their property "value" skyrocket and then proceed to leverage off it to borrow for 2nd/3rd properties. When it finally comes crashing down the younger generation will be left to pay the price.
"Back in my day" is simply burying your head in the sand, like comparing apples and oranges.
