There is no cost benefit analysis AT ALL for a new national network let alone fibre right in to the house.
The technically illiterate are all missing the point of the post.
The expense of fibre to the home cannot be justified.
The reasons?
- Millions of homes are already on the fibre network
- Take up in the U.S. is @ 20-25% meaning a cost of $30-40,000 per house here
- It is a difficult and expensive technology to work with in individual premises
- You will not all get 100mbps let alone 1gbps becuase of contention.
- ftth can be tacked on on a user pays basis if you really want it and Telstra has already proposed this for SE QLD.
You were being sold a pup.
