a prime example why governments need to stay the .... away from these sorts of projects. It makes my blood boil to know that taxpayer's hard earned could be wasted away on such a big project with a legitimate chance it could become a white elephant.
It also demonstrates and legitimates the time, research and money big business put into any big infrastructure or mining projects to get them off the ground, yet governments (particularly Labor) seem to think they can do the same in the context of a political timeframe. I just wonder if there was the same type of widespread waste when it came to building school projects and installing insulation or initiating a mining tax.
My mate is also a school teacher and he found out that architects were given $100K to draw up the plans for 2 small halls and a tuckshop!!
