Interesting article in yesterday's Sunday Telegraph.
VACCINE TESTED
A trial of a new ovarian cancer vaccine known as CVac has begun in Australia. Developed by Prima Biomed Ltd in consultation with Cancer Council of Australia president Professor Ian Frazer, the vaccine is designed to prevent ovarian cancer patients who are currently in remission from the disease from relapsing.
Clinicians will extract white blood cells from women who are in remission from ovarian cancer and tailor the vaccine to the individual's immune system.
The study is being conducted in Australia and the US with 60 patients performing a 12 week assessment at the Peter MacCallum Centre in Melbourne and the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Centre in Seattle.
The trial, which is being monitored by the US Food and Drug Administration, is expected to be completed by early next year.
I read this as very good news and could prompt some market action today. Pass it on.
