I agree to a point. I would have loved Labor to force upon us an ETS.
But they could have never done it without Lib backing though. They knew it would lead to negative economic consequences and thus could never have afforded to be solely responsible for it's implementation. Once this was seen after implementation they would have been consigned to the political wasteland for years.
I will always remember Turnbull as being silly enough to endorse the ETS at the potential cost of this countries future and for a perceived gain in votes.
Those Libs who took the unpopular move to block the ETS showed character, fortitude and were true to their instincts before looking for the popular vote.
Just look at Labor now, they really carry very little financial credibility and I think the ETS would have been another great stuff up.
Yes I wish Rudd had got it through on his lonesome!
