Brazil has great potential for Lithium mining. The new left wing government has endorsed the previous government's support for an export led lithium industry. Brazil is a relatively poor country and exporting of raw resources is an easy option for them to alleviate poverty. In the longer term they may want to add local value to the Lithium industry but for the forseeable future Brazil is likely to strongly support the development of a raw lithium export industry. Of course it will be prudent for companies to respect environmental and labour issues. In contrast, neighbouring Argentina is not as attractive a proposition with its threats to nationalise the Lithium industry. Investors must be cognizant of the long term demand for Lithium. It is enormous. It wont be long before every home has a couple of EVs and a Lithium storage battery. The short term fluctions in Lithium supply/demand are irrevelant for the long term investor. It is impossible to predict the future of the stock market. The pundits are predicting an imminent crash. So what? Just have a protective stop on your LRS holding and cash up. If a bust occurs it will provide a fantastic buying opportunity if you have gone to cash.
