I too am hopeful that Mr. Freedman will drive progress. He seems very talented, accomplished and experienced. From what RichardPossum says, it seems Mr Freedman knew Mr Carr well. Not only that, but if the media are to be believed, Mr Freedman and Mr Burston got on quite well from the moment they met, and in fact Mr Freedman was not interested in directing either Carrick Gold or Condor Nickel until he'd dined with Mr Burston.
I don't know why Mr Freedman hadn't been interested in being a director of Carrick Gold until he'd formed a friendship with Mr Ian Burston, but I'm not surprised that defending his CRK share portfolio wasn't sufficient motivation. If he wished to, and if it were for sale for its current share capitalisation of $47M, I believe that Mr Freedman could himself, if his wealth happened to be liquid, buy Carrick Gold outright, and at least three others like it.
