All Australains who fought in WW1 were volunteers .. we stood out for not conscripting troops. There was a feeling amongst the volunteers that conscripts would be a burden and affect moral.
We were also a dominion of the Empire
But I'm not sure we should be getting involved in proxy wars and weapons test beds like Ukraine. And I don't think we should get involved in basket cases like the ME that 5000 years of conflict, race hustling and skyfairy worship they wear like a badge of honour.
