Hi. Well, my 27 year old Toyota Corolla just keeps on going, and I heard Nissan Leafs are the same. I'm rather impulsive and just bought it without doing much research or shopping around, but I did find out that there was an improvement to batteries in 2017, and that's the year of the one I got. The newest models have even longer range batteries, but my car can still do about 190km on a full charge. That's plenty for all the trips of just a few kms we do. Just plugs into a normal socket to charge, so super simple. Am I happy with it? I love it. The acceleration is incredible when not in eco mode. I went for full electric rather than a hybrid because we still have a petrol car, so why lug around an engine block? It's a good feeling knowing I'm not pumping out CO2, nor funding Putin's war, and no longer spending $100 a week on petrol, doing a lot of short, cold-engine runs. It has a reversing camera, cruise control, the side mirrors retract electrically. Apparently a light will come on and tell me when the tires need air. I was surprised to learn that there's no spare tire, but this won't be unique to evs. You inflate the tire from a canister that includes some kind of sealant that should get you to the garage. Not sure about OZ with great distances. One criticism I've heard of Nissan Leafs is that the batteries are only air cooled, unlike some other evs, and temperature extremes can shorten battery life. However, where I live in NZ the temperature is mild and this won't be a problem. Might be in OZ? Being a secondhand Japanese import, the navigation system doesn't work here, but that screen functions as the reversing camera's screen. Paid about $NZ20,000 after a $3500 clean car rebate. The National government that just came into power is going to scrap that. Anyway, the Leaf is comfortable, grunty, easy to drive, very quiet (good for music), and I would thoroughly recommend it. You know the best bit? It was paid for by the sale of LRS shares, so it's a full-lithium vehicle.
