As is the case for any MDT operation any thief zones or zones where hole condition might be an issue are taken into account during the planning phase of the operation. During the MDT run you'll have a SLB Engineer and the IVZ Geologist in the wireline unit as well as IVZ and SLB Reservoir Engineers on the other phone or monitoring the operation in real time via Interact.

I've worked many wells where we encountered losses far worse than IVZ have experienced on their Mukuyu wells but it didn't prevent us successfully running and MDT. Taking some losses in the PA/top of the Upper Angwa isn't a valid reason to abandon any attempt to gather MDT pressures and samples.

Is getting a water sample from one of these drills important from a seismic/exploration point of view ? I vaguely remember Scott saying after M1 a water sample was required as well to get the salinity or something along those lines
