Not sure if this was meant to be a reply to me, but my CPA said it's not considered a wash. Just a smart trade, rather than an attempt to manipulate CGT.
My reference to CGT in the post was in regard to my assumption that it'll be at least a year until you'd intend to sell any you bought in this raise, so would still receive your 50% discount on the new parcel that you may have wanted to hold the previous shares to preserve.
