What doesn't seem right to me as you say is the fact that we don't have control of the manufacturing process, only a legal agreement.
Also we have no control over bene so what happens if they go broke or cant supply.
Any agreement with big pharma would need to include bene being at the table and receiving some of the 15% or 20% or whatever % is agreed to imho.
