Surely the mismanagement and maladministration of a country's leading strategic asset would be a significant concern for a government facing a general election.
Real politics would see a leader with an eye on re-election stepping in to sort out the imbroglio. Otherwise opposition parties will exploit his failure to fight corruption and lead for the benefit of the people, making it a potent election issue to beat up the government.
Which has me wondering: does Felix even want to be president anymore? For some time now he has presented as a leader not in control, or something even worse.
