Could Brookfield do a AGL double back?
If the ORG buyout gets too expensive/rejected, wouldn't it be cheaper/less complicated for Brookfield to ditch the consortium, not worry about Octopus and have another run at AGL (with an old bedfellow, board control and Origin Due Diligence insights)?
I could be off the mark here - but throwing $14b (EV) at AGL or ~$16.35/share, would be cheaper and more likely to get across the line than the new ask price ORG shareholders may be asking for.
They'd be able to clear ACCC quite quickly too.
What do people think? (tell him he's dreamin'?)
