They can now? They have two sets of precedent data from 2017-2018 rally and now 2020 to 2022 rallies. Ofcourse, forecasting methods and algorithms get more refined as more sets of data are used as benchmarks etc. I wouldn't say "no one predicted" as there is an entire derivative market surrounding future prices. Heck even PLS robust lying took part if playing the volatility with BMX auctions but instead opts for a different way to sell Li.
