California just released its quarterly car sales update for Q3:

• The ZEV light duty market share Q3 is above the YTD average so EV market share continues to grow in California;
• At 26.7% of 447,217, ZEV sales were about 119.4k
• With YTD sales at 342.9k, sales for the first 6 months were about 223.5k (or an average of 112k/quarter)
• EV sales are increasing in California compared to earlier this year
• Total EV sales for the 12 months of 2022 were 345,818 (18.8% share) so with three months to go, EV sales in California are already at the same point as over the full year last year. I'd call that continued strong growth.

There will always be analysts that forecast stronger growth than this so that growth is "under forecast", but 9mth YTD sales being only 1% below 12-month sales last year is strong growth. Current quarter sales and market share being above YTD averages is robust growth.
