I got most of my LKE at $0.03 and sold most around $1, so left huge $ on the table....wait, current share price $0.16? OK, not so bad. We have to remember the whole idea here is getting on escalator low, and actually hopping off at the top before those moving stairs go around the cog and drag you underneath back to the bottom with all the damage.
Hype driven by stratospheric rise in lithium prices from a level where even brine makers were struggling to make operational profit back in 2020 to spectacular rise where any idiot with a hard rock mine looked a genius. I see prices coming back to a point where they'll be barely above the marginal cost of production for the WA hard rock outfits that are in operation next year. That should be the lower price point that all brine operations should be running their numbers against, ie. is the IRR above 10% post tax if liCO3 is $12K to $15K/tonne.
My take on AGY is that it has hardly any reserves but don't worry, has enough for a few to 5 years and so can buy some brine from neighbours cheap to fund their plans. Mate, sure hope this plant works soon.
