A while ago i saw an article ( sorry can't recall where or the exact article).
But it was about some of the 'costs' of operating a business like a mine, in some jurisdictions like for example in a narco state. There would be Government taxes, social contributions and money that would have to be paid directly to the local crime entity such as a cartel. Those 'extraordinary' payments would be covered by the company with fancy accounting? - share holders would likely never know...
