I would have to say a trading halt especially over the weekend for a core visual seemed like a bit of overkill to me.
Made me think management were trying a bit of a pump in the absence of news. Now I'm thinking about it differently, the drill was spun close to boundary and I believe in the US the company who makes initial discovery is entitled to follow the resource across lines.
So trading halt and then statement before neighbours have a chance to move.
The whole world can see it and can be referenced back.
It's ours baby.
