correct , we all buy stocks to go up, within a reasonable time frame, given their potential etc.... I don't buy stock that MIGHT become successful in 5 years from now, . but than again, I don't expect a penny stock to become $5.-- overnight.... a little common sense should prevail.... but common sense doesn't seem to be that common any more.
do some research, and buy accordingly...
