Accusations coming thick and fast overnight from Mali!
The following is information coming from mine workers in Mali.
~ Firefinch put us in $60M debt when they left, they have no idea why the company "abandoned" the mine. ** This debt isn't something that has suddenly appeared, but it is now more being referred to by Malian workers, they are viewing Firefinch as bad & evil. My opinion, the mine workers never knew about these debts as Firefinch were in control of the mine and its finances, but now the mine is being run solely by Malian workers all is being disclosed?
They do hold Drissa Arama in very high regard, more so that he is "rebuilding" all the community programs that Firefinch allegedly abandoned when they took control back in 2020, and adding fuel to the fire with the lingering debt story as well.
~ No real surprise here, the Government proposed buyer is the Company they formed around October 2022.
~ The Mali government completed a forensic investigation, and has lead to all these issues and questions that Firefinch won't answer; BUT ~ Firefinch now have a lawyer permanently based in Bamako to defend themselves.
