Asteroid Physke is approx 2.2billion miles from earth and takes approx 6 years to get to it. 12 year return for a payload.
NASA can't even open a recent sample from an asteroid 200million miles away. Oops we have some space dust on the outside of the capsule we can thankfully access.
There is no PFS or DFS to mining Physke and there is no metallurgical testing to optimise processing and recovery of the ore type. There is no method yet available to bring large payloads through the atmosphere without earths natural barrier burning the object. Good luck constructing a drilling rig on an asteroid anytime soon to drill out the resource and reserves. The rigs currently used on the planet earth still require human operation.
I make investment decisions based on facts not headline fantasies like someone here. I'm not saying it will never happen, but until they have proof of concept and they can demonstrate it will be commercially mined economically with some hard numbers it's nothing but a fantasy. Only the gullible allow their ears to be tickled and the naive to believe a headline.
