I'd say this could be the reason, I missed this news yesterday arvo. Telfer is "coming home" to Newmont and "remains a key strategic asset". I don't have subscription to AFR anymore, so can't read the full story.
Telfer remaining a key strategic global asset for Newmont can only mean one thing...they need Antipa's resources to keep Telfer running. The timeline to substantially increase the bulk tonnage output at Havieron will be minimum a decade. So of course to optimise the Telfer plant, additional identical ore from Minyari can substantially top up the Havieron output.
