people used to think williamstown/newport in melbourne where rat infested holes. There are still some blocks there for 40 granf on the lower side of loch sport that are proned to flooding. We brought on the high side on top of the hill with awesome sea views hence we paid more. Land like this rarely exists anymore and is only a matter of time before this blocks go through the roof.
THe mozzie problem has been brought under control in loch sport after they spent years spraying them I was up there last summer and it wasn't that bad.
My point is too show those who look at prices in melbourne and sydney then assume where in a property bubble. Yes inner cities are overpriced yet country areas and some what under priced and thats where the smart investors are moving. This is a two speed housing market.
