Hamas themselves are determined to fight to the very end for the holy Jihad cause (look at their Charter) and are not interested in genuine compromise or negotiation. They would rather sacrifice Gazan civilians than to listen to the other side or any sort of reason. This is the kind of people the IDF is dealing with.

Hamas are murderers as you say and not humane enough to reason with or else they would simply surrender like any sensible human. But they're like dealing with mentally ill psycopaths, indoctrinated from a young age. They will keep firing rockets at Israel regardless of what's going on in the rest of the world.
