    "I saw it asked earlier but couldn't see the response. What occurs if for example Libs get in with 76 - 73 + the 3 independents (Katter, Oakshot and Windsor), but then Labor, Wilkie and Greens decline/refuse to be speaker? Forcing Lib to supply one then its locked at 75 a piece?"

    If the Libs have 76 then Labor would have 74, so it's 75-74 with the speaker. The real problem is if one of them is out of the chamber during a division, sick, in hospital etc.
