Only two months ago they were claiming that nameplate would be achieved in October 2023.
The sophisticated investors clearly knew that this was not happening and therefore the bet to short the stock was a safe one.
5 months ago they claimed that an offtake agreement was weeks away.
Based upon this record, we can safely say that the carbonate plant will cost $750 million and not $550 million.
The silver lining is that PLL may not make it through this downturn.
