as has been pointed out, neith Lab nor Lib (nor all the others) have enough in the coffers to fight another election
it would also cost the taxpayer $180M just for the mechanics of the election - which would only be a lower house poll anyway - and could well end up with a similar result so running the risk of wasting time and moeny getting to the same point we are now
it's a massive gamble and one they will not risk
