They have growth (albeit slow) and for once in their lives, they are going to have to revisit that forgotten discipline...patience.
Australia is slowly waking up to the fact that we are not quite as joined to the American hip as we once were.
Our economy is ticking along nicely and we are close to more stability via an election result
(Coalition $1.35 ALP $3.10).
Some have said on the AGO threads that the mining tax is not an issue for our little AGO but I see that as a very short sighted view. Its not just about whether we immediately earn enough to qualify, but rather, the whole International view of whether to invest in Australia.
Watch for example, how fast those Ridley negotiations get wrapped up once Tony has been sworn in.
All things considered, I believe AGO is set to be seriously re-rated and $4 is a very real short term possibility.
