At least at MyNorth (an AMP product with their corporate Trustee) I have considerable control over my assets. Sure, I cannot buy outside the ASX300 (except for 'allowed' LIC's etc) but if a stock such as IMU falls out of the ASX300 I only sell when I choose - but I cannot buy more unless they re-enter the ASX300.
